We had a discussion about business cards tonight.
I feel that this is an important part of Marketing and Sales as this is possibly the first time that a client will be aware of who you are.
The design should be simple and clear and reflect the nature of your work, and where to contact you.
The detail should contain your business name, who you are, what you do, and your contact details.
Therefore your specific line of work should be very clear eg whether you are an Architectural photographer or a fashion photographer should be reflected on the card.
Whether you include an image on your card of the type of photography you do is down to personal choice. I would not want to do this as your photography will change in time and after a while you may want to change it. Personally I think a simple background emphasising the area of expertise would be sufficient.
More detail can be added to the rear of the card, thus giving the client further information.
