Dawn

Went to Edale with Duncan last Saturday afternoon to take advantage of the current weather. Camped just outside Edale for the night, and by chance the hill in front looked like a good place to photograph the dawn from. Not knowing how the weather would be the next morning (it would be fine anyway) we planned to set off at 5am. Needless to say we left the site later than planned, at 5:05am! Arrived at the top at 6:08am, just as the light was coming into the sky.

Below is an initial selection.

This was the evening view from my tent to "the hill" and you can see the path up. We ended up at the edge on the right about 10 metres from the top. It was an interesting climb in the dark. It was so much easier coming down, but we could see where we could have saved 20 minutes going up then. Must reccy next time.

This was the view prior to the sunrise. You have Back Tor just off centre left with Mam Tor to the right.

The cloud formations were highlighted by the sun coming up

Here comes the sun

Here comes the sun again with Edale at the bottom of the image. Coffee here later as we had forgotten to bring the tea or coffee!!

Pondering?
